A knitted polyester tip for solvent work where foam would swell or leave residue.
Construction
Knitted polyester is mechanically tighter than foam and does not absorb solvent into a bulk matrix. That makes it the better choice for IPA and acetone work, and for surfaces where foam residue would be a defect.
Where it is used
- Solvent cleaning of small parts
- Optical connector end faces
- Printed circuit board rework
- Precision bearings and pivots
Handling notes
Polyester tips can generate static on dry surfaces. Use an ESD-safe reference where static is a controlled parameter.
